Moving house/getting it ready for photo's

I have a week or so to get the photo's on the net and we are living in a bombsite due to school holidays and small toddler combo.
Any suggestions as to how to get a grip, am seriously thinking of packing all up into boxes and then sorting it all at the other end but then figure that would make more work in the long term.
How do people manage the show home look with children in the house ?

Speak to the estate agent and find out what pics they want - they won't take photos of everything, usually garden, living room, main bedroom, bathroom etc. It is a nightmare to do with DCs, but I'd be tempted to concentrate on the photo rooms first and put as much stuff as you can (that you won't need) in storage short term

When we were moving and only had one toddler we use to loads piles of stuff eg. sit and ride toys, toy baskets, ironing baskets, piles of paperwork etc into the car and park it round the corner whenever we had someone coming to view the house : ) Also asked the agent to do viewings back to back (as far as possible) rather than having one here and a few days later another.

We did it. Buy storage boxes and fill them with the crap you dont need and store in garage or shed or friend's house. When taking photo just move stuff around. So eg if taking living room photo, move crap and toys to other room. Declutter kitchen so that it looks bigger (we got rid of our spice rack even though that's kitchen related). Hang clothes up, shove toys away.

We sold in 6 weeks. Given that 2 years ago it took them 1.5 years to sell it that's a major improvement! Good luck.

I have just done this. Because we couldn't go for "homely" (Baking bread, coffee machine on) as part way through the move we went for clear and spartan so the place looks big.

We tidied the garden so it looked very easy to maintain - no toys, plants all neatened and lawn mowed within and inch of its life.

in the house all clean flat surfaces - so even in the kitchen we shoved breadbin/ toaster/ kettle everything shoved in a cupboard from hell.

Bathroom - all toiletries shoved away

toys in a great big box in he shed - meant we could rotate a bit too which is handy in the holidays.

And as we were going for spartan and smell is powerful, teatree down the loo and a lemon cooking on the hob. We had two viewings and both wanted it (rental mind so a bit easier.)
