Rotary Irons - are they worth it?

I know, I know I sound like a right lazy cow - but I've got loads of washing sitting out in laundry baskets and can't seem to summon up the strength to pick up the iron. :)

I've seen the adverts on TV and it seems to make the job easier - but then again they would on commercial TV won't they?

Just wondered if anyone's used these irons and if they're worth it? Would appreciate your opinions either way!

my godparents used to run a hotel

they had one of those iron things, but only used it for the million and one sheets and pillowcases that were washed and ironed daily.

not sure how it would work for clothes? (but was fab for large sheets and duvets)

i know my godparents had a normal iron and ironing board for clothes

(but we are talking 15 years ago here...)

Thanks Nannyl.

15 years is a while back though, but I get your point :)

I must say the thought of sitting while ironing - rather than standing for hours seems tempting...

Yes I am bringing a dead thread back to life, but just to say I recently got a rotary iron and it is truly fab.

That's all Wink

My old boss used to have one and I used it for all the sheets, bed linen. It would have been a pita for clothes in my opinion. You'd have to spend ages flattening and straightening evertyhthing to make sure you didn't iron a crease in. Now this was 20 years ago, so this opinion is if they haven't changed in that time!
