American style fridge freezer broke! To fix or not to fix? Any reccomendations?

It had to break just after I did a monster shop didn't it.
It's a second hand Samsung Rs20ccs, it's been amazing. It's about 10 years old.
But now thermostat is broken, local white goods electrician charges £40 to come and just look at it!
Is it worth repairing?
Any recommendations for a new one!!

Which? seem to recommend Samsung and Hotpoint (get Which magazine at your local library)
