Help! Hair dye stain

I've just rather foolishly attempted a home hair dye (trying to save time/money). All was going well but I've managed to get a blob on the wooden worktop/surface in our bathroom which I now can't get off!

Any suggestions?

Never tried this myself but someone at work who was a hairdresser said hairspray removes dye.
Worth a go .

Well a big sprat of hairspray works on clothes stained withe dye. BUT the beauty of wood is you can sand it down and re seal it if it doesn't work.
