How much to clean stair carpet?

I need to get my stairs and small landing carpet clean, have any of you had it done and how much was it?

And was it any good?

Hi fluffy,had mine done about a month ago, was charged £1 per tred, amazing value I thought, but I think it;s made my stair carpet look dirtier, the operator told me that I had booked a maintenance clean which was just a quick once over with a steam cleaner sort of thing, wish I had never had it done now, and am now contempating gettting a new carpet , I can only advise that you make sure you are not taken in by "geat deals" !!
