need a home-made remedy for carpets

my dd has been ill at bed-time for the second time this week!!! That's a-whole-nother thread... for now, I need a home made remedy to get the smell out of her carpet which just took a dousing.

Apparently bicarbonate of soda, liberally sprinkled over the carpet and left to absorb the smell. Then hoover.

Obviously do this when you've already cleaned it as much as you can and it's dried.

I second bicarb, if you have any lavender do 50% lavender flowers pulled off the sprigs to 50% bicarbonate of soda sprinkle on carpet then leave overnight and then hoover up. But really it is the bicarb that does the work.
