Fridge help needed please!

During this hot spell I haven't altered the setting on my fridge dial (have always had it around 7 [out of 10]).

It's seemed to be chucking out more heat from the back than usual and when I looked just now behind the food on the top shelf, the panel that normally has a bit of frost on it has got snow - over 1cm deep!

My milk didn't seem that cold just now - advice please on how to restore the fridge to happiness quickly!

The weather is hot and humid at the moment. Your fridge will be kicking out more heat as a result. The frost is due to humid air that enters when you open the door being frozen at the back of the fridge.

You need to turn it up to 10 to cool it more - also give it a good clean, defrost and make sure the drain hole at the back is not blocked by poking it with a long skewer or stiff wire.

Thanks! Do you mean remove as much snow as I can from the panel to give it a better chance of working?

Last summer over several weeks it spent half a day at a time not coming on at all - all the frost on the back panel had melted and the motor wasn't running for hours. So it's got a different problem now!!

I think it needs switching off and a proper defrost and clean. Then switch back on at 10.
