My 4yr old DS wet the bed last night but there was no protective sheet underneath and it is a big double mattress, I've cleaned the surface with disinfectant but am unsure about how I can properly clean it.

I think urine is sterile so it's just the smell that you need to combat, which can be done with bicarbonate of soda (I think). I hope someone comes along and advises you otherwise Smile

i use a steam cleaner, get as much of the wet out of the matress by putting a towel over it and pressing hard/ standing on it then use the steam cleaner to kill all the germs/ bacteria and then when its dry it's fine, maybe a very slight stain but it doesn't smell at all
