The DC keep getting something black or navy on their school jumpers at school that doesn't come out in the wash. Does whiteboard pen wash out or could it be the culprit?

it should wash out.

I have never been able to get whiteboard marker off of dd or ds's polo shirts so it could well be the culprit in your case

I've also had problems with whiteboard marker. It drives me insane. The school polo shirts are £8 each and I cannot wash the marker ink out of them. There have been a few threads about this and I always click on them hoping that someone will find a magic solution. Unfortunately, I don't think there is one. I've tried bleach, sunlight, stain removers etc without any effect.
