Question for Henry lovers

Really need a new vacuum cleaner. My Sebo has never really recovered since I ran over it with the car and subsequently melted the hose on a boiler pipe.

Borrowed my mum's dyson ball which I really liked because of the manoeuvrability, but she's taken it back so I need to buy something new.

Have always fancied a henry and they have good reviews and are much cheaper than the dyson, however .... I hated my pull along sebo, always in the wrong place, getting caught around corners etc. DP insisted on getting a pull along (even he never uses the bloody thing). If I get a Henry will I have the same issue or do I need to find another upright?

whilst I do love my henry for the long lead and all that, it drives me fecking nuts as it gets stuck round every corner and instead of wheeling along it just tumbles over which surely someone should have designed out by now! I confess to swearing at it which is a bit ott don't you think. I can't get my head round uprights and stairs or wooden floors though (we have a lot of those).

I love my Hetty but I am looking to get an upright for reasons above plus for us we have storage issues.

Yes, Henry gets stucks around corners and falls over. I thought the fact that it has a round-ish shape would make it more manoeuvrable...but it doesn't. Gets stuck at corners and falls over quite regularly.

Henry is not very clever but I can forgive him that as he is very efficient. He copes well with wooden floors, it's just corners and his very un-weebleness.

Do you really think "Henry lovers" are going to convince you to get one considering what you did to your Sebo?!?

henry is great for getting up dust/muck/crap etc - he is not very good on his feet (wheels) but this can be forgiven as he is such a good cleaner (and every time you change the bag it seems like you have a new cleaner)

agree with all the above..surely they cd have come up with something that ergonomically stays standing on its feet...I do love its efficiency though

OK I am going to ignore your cruel and unusual treatment of your Sebo, as I think you have learned your lesson now.

THis is what you have to do to stop a Henry getting stuck on corners. (It does this because they give you a very nice long stretchy tube so you can vacuum a whole staircase without moving it halfway up)

When you are moving your H around, get in the habit of reaching down to drag it from around a metre away from the machine. It will then follow you perfectly. THat is all, thank me later.

Henry does get stuck, and if yanked falls over. I do love him though - he copes with dog hair, crumbed playdoh ground into the carpet - basically if he can suck up builder's rubble there's not much he can't cope with in our house.

I'm still marvelling at how it works at all - you take the top off and all the electrics are in his head and the bag and the hose are in the bottom. How does he suck? How, how, how? I've decided it's magic.
