Honest ..this works.

Get a bowl of cool water, add a small handfull of flour (any flour will do, plain, SR, or cornflour) just enough to give a watery semi skimmed milk consistancy. Wash your window with it. Dry it off straight away with kitchen towel. Then get a dry cloth (micro fibre cloths are best) and polish. It hardly takes any elbow grease so don't worry.

Beautiful windows, no smears! It also clears away any other chemical residues that your windows have collected over the years.

My method involves micor fibre cloths and no flour/water Grin.

Get a green (all purpose e-cloth) and wet and wring out.
Wash window but not too many panes/too large an area at once so they don't completely dry).

Then use your blue (for glass) e-cloth and buff over damp glass.

Perfect shine and smear free.

Hope you don't mind me butting in but I felt a bit sorry for you knowing you could miss out the messy step of the flour maggie.

Glass e-cloth and plain water. Works a treat.

I use a small spray bottle to spray water on the window, then wipe with the cloth. Takes cat nose prints and sticky hand prints off beautifully. :-)

I need to get me a spray bottle.
