How do you stop the softener compartment of the washing machine blocking up??

I use fabric softener with most washes. I wash the drawer out and it doesn't appear block but it frequently does empty properly.
Any suggestions??

It should say - it doesn't appear blocked but it frequently doen't empty properly!

We bought a new machine a few months ago, and in the book it says something about adding a bit of water to it, especially if it is concentrated fabric softener. I started to do this, adding probably a teaspoon, I use an old bottle and just put in a wee slosh!

I use smart price vinegar as fabric softner. I use a cap full same as I would for softner. I hated the way it used to get gunged up.

do you take the whole drawer out to clean it?

I take the whole drawer out to clean both drawer and the 'hole' it slots into. I also put on a very hot wash when it is empty and use White vinegar to wash it through. So I don't understand why it still doesn't always empty?? I will try the tip of diluting the fabric conditioner a little.
