How the Jeff do I get this clean?

DS1 (5) got a football strip last week. He saved up for it and would sleep in it if I let him!!

He has worn it non stop, unless he has been in his school uniform, or his pyjamas.

He has managed to spill who knows what on it and the greasy stains just won't come out.

It is polyester, the label says 30degree wash, but it's coming out just as stained as it was when it went it.

I have washed it at a hotter temperature, no joy.

I have soaked it in Ariel stain remover powder, no joy.

My friend has it at the moment and is going to try her vanish stain remover stick on it, but I predict no joy with that either.

What else can I try??

Have you tried soaking it in cold salty water - if it is a biological stain then that often draws it out.

Bar of soap? Gets the grass put of cricket whites.

Ok, haven't tried either of those, but will give them a go... thanks.

Any other tips?

Ariel Actilift gel - wonderful stuff - rub it in the grubby bits then put it through the wash. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't work.

After two goes with the Vanish stain remover stick thinggy, I finally got it clean.

DS1 was very excited and changed into it as soon as he got home from school.

And then he promptly spilled his tea all over it.

Washing up liquid works on grease, just in case he makes a habit of this.

He has made a habit of it Flufflycloud!

And a squirt of washing up liquid rubbed into it just before it goes into the wash takes all of 10 seconds and it comes out really, really clean! Hooray!!
