Panasonic Breadmaker users - I need your help please!

Last week I bought a Panasonic Breadmaker model SD 256, mostly because it was the MN top rated one! So I'm hoping that there are some users here that can help...

I'm making a seeded loaf, and you are supposed to add the seeds part way through cooking, when a beep sounds. It beeped, I added the seeds...then nothing happened. The countdown had gone down to zero so it looked like it was finished but all I had was a lump of dough and some seeds. Hmm

I tried pressing start/stop but nothing happened. I ended up turning it off and on a again and it seems to have gone into a rest phase and is counting down from 4 hours.

Will this be alright? Am I going to end up with an edible loaf? How should I have put the bloody seeds in? The manual is less than helpful, it just says to put them in, but then what?

I tend to just use french but my guess would be you set it to dough not bake

Check the times against the recipe

Sounds like you set it to dough and not bake.

You can turn out the dough you have and bake in the oven. Clean the bucket and start again - make sure it is set to bake. Unusual for it to default to dough???

If it happens again I would return it as faulty.

I'm fairly sure I set it to "bake". I could be wrong though...Confused

What's supposed to happen when you put extra bits in? Do you literally sling them in and shut the lid and it carries on?
Do you think it'll be OK if I leave it now? It's couting down so I think it's doing something...

Thanks for the quick responses!
