stiff washing

I'm being really good, drying clothes on a line in the garden instead of automatically transferring them to the tumble dryer. BUT, I hate how all the clothes dry really stiff. They feel horrible when you next wear them, and towels are the worst. I've tried using a fabric conditioner. Does anyone have any ideas?

Try tumble drying the towels for 5 minutes before putting them on the line. (could also try this with vests and pants and things as well - but I don't bother).

Do you live in a hard water area? I live in a soft water area and dry a lot of stuff on the line but don't really have this problem (except towels which I bung in the drier for few mins with some drier balls whilst still damp). You could try adding soda crystals to your wash to soften the water. Worth a try :)

Give the towels a good shake before you put them on the line.
