Stainless steel roasting pans - any good?

Just fed up with no stick ones where I end up with non stick coating stuck on my food and a rusty roasting pan.

Anyone use the stainless steel ones, seem pricey so wondering if they are worth it?

I've never used a s/s roasting dish, but had a s/s frying pan years ago, and found everything stuck to it, and a bugger to clean. I use old fashioned enamel roasters, which I find much better.

enamel, hadn't thought of that! Where do you get them from?

I got my last one in a charity shop! Lakeland do them here

I have this one www.cookingtime.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=2953 but not from this site and LOVE it. I've been using it since I was at uni iirc (def had the matching pans then) so about 8 years.

I have 2 stainless steel roasting tins and I love them. Very easy to clean and will put up with a good scrubbing if necessary.

Another vote here for stainless steel , have had mine for more years than I care to contemplate and they still scrub up beautifully.

Gave two to my D-I-L and she was obviously a bit puzzled as she had non-stick but she gave them a try eventually (after about 2 years!) and then told me how brilliant she thought they were.

mrsravelstein · 10/05/2011 16:21

yup, i've got a couple from ikea which are brilliant for everything from roast chicken to fishfingers

Ok I'm going for it. Plus an enamel one as they are SO cheap.

Thanks all.
