Weeey floorboards

Took the carpet out of our upstairs loo (phew) and it has underneath badly urine stained floorboards. Lovely. We are thinking of tiling the loo, but before I do, I think I will need to clean the floorboards to stop the smell coming up. What do you think I should use - a bleach solution? Anyone have any ideas what concentration and what with???

Pull up one of the boards and see how sodden it is.

We had to replace several boards in the lavatory of our house.

I'd have to replace them. Once liquid has soaked into wood, the smell will always remain.

I had this in a former house. I used a solution of Jeyes Fluid (it is terribly strong stuff though, so take care). Eventually after several applications and leaving it to dry for weeks and weeks the smell was neutralised.
Be very careful if you try it, it is toxic to cats especially and dcs.
