Playdough and carpets...

For some strange reason, DD decided squidging (home made) playdough into the carpet was as good idea. I'm not amused, mainly because she's been told so many times that playdough and carpets don't go together and she's told me she knew it was naught when she did it...

Anyway, does anyone have any top tips on how to get it out again? I was so cross I've told her that if we have to get a new carpet then she'll be contributing her pocket money (which she doesn't even get yet) for a few years to pay for it Blush.

Help!

get as much out as poss without rubbing it in. Let it dry. Then brush as much as you can out. brush again, then hoover. Then carpet cleaner if needed if it was coloured.
Worked for me.

It's now banned in carpeted areas!

Let it dry whatever you do, dont try get wet or damp playdough out you will make it worse! Try freezing with ice and pick out too that works fairly well

Thanks. I've left it well alone for now (DD did a good job of mashing it in by herself Angry), but will attack it with a stiff brush and the hoover tomorrow. At least I know its basically flour, salt, water and oil with a touch of food colouring and glitter - when bits get left out it does dry quite crumbly. Most of me says it ought to come out fairly easily.

(DH suggested I might have over-reacted just a touch, and that getting the carpet professionally cleaned would probably solve the problem. And that if it didn't we had insurance Blush.)
