Best thing for cleaning leather sofa?

I don't have a leather sofa myself but my friend has and she uses (wait for it) ... the inside of banana skins on hers. She swears they bring out a really good shine.

For everyday- baby wipes

For stains (biro in particular)- hairspray

bananas might make the sofa smell funny

I use babywipes at the moment. would never have thought of using hairspray though
