Steam cleaners

Does anyone use these? Particularly ones that clean upholstery too. I want to be able to thoroughly clean with as few chemicals as possible, and I feel that if I can do the sofas and carpets too it might deal with our cat hairs and dander as some of my family have allergies.

There was a good offer on one on ideal tv this week called a little yello or something only saw it because I was flicking through channel, not my usual daytime habit!
I think they are a great idea and worth trying.
