Where to buy fabric dye?

I need to dye some bedding, and have been looking for fabric dye, but cant seem to find any - I have looked in supermarkets, and B&Q, but they dont have it.

Do they still make it?

Wilko (Wilkinsons) and Boyes.

NorthernGobshite · 22/04/2011 13:26

2nd vote for Wilkos.

I live in Scotland - I dont think that we have either Wilkinsons or Boyes here. Is there anywhere else that might stock it? I had thought that B&Q would have it. Would homebase have it?

Dylon makes it - if nothing else, it can be bought online, I'm sure.
I've bought it in a fabric shop, and I think John Lewis sells it. It's on sale in art shops.
There's also a company called Jaquard which makes a range of dyes - here's one type for sale so you can get an idea of price www.folksy.com/items/12518-jacquard-acid-dyes-14g-bottles
They do machine wash dyes as well but you'll need to google.

Thaks, that give me lots of options. There is a Dunhelm mill in my town, I will go there and have a look. Smile

I recommend Dylon as I use it to re-dye my towels. I believe you can buy it all-over the UK in local supermarkets as I got mine in Tesco. But as others have said John Lewis and Dunelm Mill also sell it and you can buy in through their websites.

Hi there,
You can also go on fabric-dye.com, they have all colours for just £2 and the dyes are of good quality.
Hope it helped :)

I Didn't realize the post is dated April 2011...
