Anyone with a LG steam washing machine?

Just checking if anyone has a LG steam direct drive washing machine? Wanting to know if they are as good as I'm led to believe before I start my persuasion tactics on dh!

I have one. I have been very dissapointed with it. This is my second one - the first broke down within a few months, and I had loads of hassle with an LG engineer repeatedly cming out to fix it before I finally managed to persuade them to replace it. The new one does work, but the various cycles arent brilliant. I certainly wouldnt recommend this machine.

My MIL has one because they were on special offer in Macro. She buys most of her household items this way and very often they don't last long. But haven't heard any complaints from her so far. The steam ones are so new that I wonder if the technology is 100% reliable yet?

On the other hand, we have a new LG washer (not the steam one) and it's been great so far. The brand was recommended to DH by one of his work suppliers as very reliable. I love it - 8kg drum, direct drive motor has 10 yr guarantee, really quiet and plays me a tune when it's done. They come up pretty well in Which surveys too.
