Puddle at the bottom of fridge

I get a puddle of about a cup of water at the bottom of my fridge every week, I mopped it up on tuesday and already there is about half a cup of water there!

I've tried making the fridge colder, but it hasn't made any difference and now things at the back are freezing.

I've had it for just over a year, and this has started happening in the last month or so.

Any ideas??

you will find a drainage hole probably at the back wall above salad boxes. It's blocked

Take a cotton bud or similar - poke around and remove gunge. It will be fine then

unluckyinlove is right. You may have to dig around and get any gloop out. If you're still getting the problem, then you haven't got it all out.

Ok thanks, I will have a look.

Mine came with a plastic de-gunging tool. Be carefull you don't drop cotton bud down it as the hole is often longer than a cotton bud and you'll be adding to the blockage! [buconfused]

I use a straw.

I use a wine bottle plug (the metal stoppers you put in the top to keep the wine fresh) pmsl, then i put a little milton down which helps it stay unblocked a little longer. Also check after you have unblocked it that you have no frozen water under the salad box as this will defrost after unblocking causing water to apear again :s
