Washing Machine nightmare!!!

Last night DS peed on my lovely maternity body pillow. I read the instructions and it was fine to wash so I popped it in the machine. When I opened the door the thing had melted in one part (not sure how), and lets just say it was a winter wonderland.

Oh yes the whole thing has exploded tiny poly-somthing beads everywhere and stinks of burning.

I ran the machine on a rinse, still a blizzard. I ran it on a short wash with a towel in, thousands of beads still. I got a microfibre cloth and wiped the machine which did really help. I then left it to dry as the door seal was still covered. Then I hoovered it. It really helped but still traces of beads. I have now done a regular load and it is covered.

What can I do next????????? Is it safe, I keep thinking that I am inhaling these beads. It also really smells funny.

Any ideas appreciated.

Maybe empty your coin trap filter, there's bound to be some gunk in there. That should help more drain away. If you do a rinse hold then drain the machine (lots of buckets and towels at the ready) that might pull lots through.

I do feel for you - it's awful having machine problem you've never even heard of before. I'd try phoning manufacturers to ask if anyone's available to talk about it/give advice over phone before paying poss. large call-out fee. Good luck; hope it's soon sorted.

Thanks for coming back to me ladies. The machine is still in warrenty but I am thinking that due to it being totally my fault this would not be covered. What do you think?

Ok little update.

The load that I took and and was covered I have now tumbled. The little balls are all in the lint thing. I think that I am going to hoover the machine again in the morning when it is dry.

Just hoover and keep doing washes until they are all gone, can't be that many.

I would keep doing short washes with towels in until they are all flushed out.

I work in an old folks home and someone on the shift before me had put a load of washing in with a pad (giant nappy for adults) mixed up in it. The pad split and all the fluff and absorbant gel went everywhere. We did exactly the same as you-hoovered the washer a few times using attachment hose and tumble dried everything-it was lovely opening the fluff trap! It was fine, the machine didn't break and a few washes down the line noone is any the wiser. SO I am sure your washer will be fine-good luck

Thanks. I think i am nearly there. I am so pleased i am not the only person to have hoovered my washing machine. Thought i was going a bit mad. Thanks for all your support.

Poor you, that happened to me with a duvet once. Thank god I was in a laundrette. I quietly left and have used a different laundrette since. very Blush
