Best vacuum cleaner for parquet floors, cats and asthma?

My Dyson is crap. It can't cope with all the fluff, dust and hair that occur with pets and hardwood floor. I've heard Miele are good, but have bags which aren't so good for asthma sufferers.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

MIele are good as they lift out so much dust and dirt - they also do ones with a HEPA filter and are approved by the asthma society, they also do special heads for lifting animal hair (their website has lots of extras you can buy ). I have an ordinary Miele I got 6 months ago (to replace a dyson) my house is so much cleaner and my DD (18) who has bad asthma has commented how much better the house is. Emptying the bags is a lot less messy than emptying the Dyson..

A sebo vulcano - we've got one and it's fab! Used to have a Dyson.

Prefer my Meile to Dyson too, but I don't have pets. Lots of fluff tho!

I ditched my Dyson for a miele cat and dog. It is so much better, I change the filter regulary (they come with the bags) and I find that lifting out a bag is a lot more pleasant than cleaning out the dyson.
