Please advise me.

If you are not very organised and are not going to get it together to SELL your clutter (books etc at carboot or online) is it better just to give to charidee, shurely?

Yeah as long as it's not shit/ rubbish.
We have given LOADS to charity shop lately and I'm not sure they love all of it but ifthey can shift some if it then that's ok in my book.
I'm taking some really scabby clothes to the fabric recycling bin at the supermarket and will be putting the shoes in the shoe bin there too.

Do it soon as you'll feel lighter and cleansed by throwing stuff out or is that just me?

Longstocking2 · 15/04/2011 12:18

I agree, I recycle the grim stuff at our recycling centre place.

but it's true isn't it, I'm NEVER going to get round to selling stuff am I?

Depends on your motivation and time limits.
We eBay-ed a lot if things and made over £200! Wasn't expecting that. Grin
dc2 is arriving next week so needed to make a spare dumping ground bedroom into a Childs bedroom. That was the motivation.

Thats our situation right now. Im PG with DC3 (not due till Sept though) and need to turn our crap room into a bedroom. We're just doing a bit at a time. Lots of trips to the skip.

Good luck! It is incredibly satisfying to look at ds's new room (nursery is staying as is) and remember what a crap-fest it was! :)
Best things we did were
eBay
Charity shops
Buying doors for our big Billy bookcases to turn them from functional shelves to rather nice looking living room furniture.
