Irons

Need to get a new steam iron but I don't want one with a separate tank.
However we live in a hard water area so it must be good at self-cleaning too.
Any suggestions?

Please reconsider about getting a steam generator tank one.I live in a hard water area and have now had the same tank one(self cleaning) for more than 4 years.Previously I needed a new iron every 18 months or so.
Ironing is so much quicker and easier (I do about 2 hours a week, with work shirts and uniforms-never bed linen)
they are bulky but they are worth it if you have a lot to do.

Thanks for the advice. Which one do you have?

love my steam generator iron and I never used to iron anything before I had it.

I only ever use carplan de-ionised water in mine though, mil uses rainwater out if the water butt in hers because rain water is soft.

I have the Phillips gc7230. But I think there all good it just depends what type of sole plate you want and if you want an extra large tank or not.

You can usually check them out in the shops then find them cheaper online.
