I need a new vacuum cleaner. Can I please have some recommendations? This is about the fourth dyson I've had in as many years and they keep bloody breaking on me. (In fairness, they are reconditioned when I get them from MIL).

I had a Sebo for 11 years and now have a Miele Cat & Dog. Miele repaired the hoover when I broke it - for free.

Miele all the way!!!!

Can one get an upright Miele? The only one I have ever used was a cylinder one and I do prefer an upright!

I'm going to show my age now by admitting I've never had a hoover with a bag before - does it work out very expensive? Do you have to have a new bag every time or can you just empty the bag and change it one in three or something?
Oh God, feel like such a numpty asking that! If my mother was alive I could ask her but you guys will have to stand in on this one if you can?!
