Pot plants.

Is it true they only grow to the size of the pot?

I've had a Spathiphyllum for about 4 months and I'm moving my sofa further away each few weeks.

Will this growth continue?

The size of the pot will restrict the growth of a plant as the roots get pot bound but the plant itself can be lots bigger than the pot. How big a pot have you got?

Hi, cuppa.

The pot's about 8" in diameter and 10" deep.

Was thinking to repot, but not sure if I'll be able to contain the monster.

ooh thats quite a biggish pot but a good size to give a good looking plant assuming you have the room for it - it will stop at some stage Smile. A smaller pot will give a smaller plant but not necessarily as healthy! I assume that the leaves are at full size so it is just the spread that is taking the room? If there is more than one plant in the pot you could always divide into different pots.

Hi again.

Yes, it's a healthy plant with full leaves - just growing in circumference!

Thanks for your help, cuppa!
