Getting biro off a desk

DD has just drawn all over my mothers desk with a biro and it doesn't seem to be moving at all.

It's a veneered desk (think Ikea) so I thought it would clean quite easily but it really isn't.

Please help, my parents are back at 9pm and I need to have the marks gone by then or we'll never be allowed to stay again.

Any tips?

Baby wipes are good for getting most things off! Or hairspray?

Thanks k999. I tried baby wipes and bathroom cleaner. I am not sure she has hairspray. I will go and check now....

That's really handy to know, I'll have to make sure we have some in the house now.

It's why I never use hairspray....imagine what it is doing to your hair!!
