So tell me - how much would I really use a steam mop!

OK. Currently I have a mop with one of those microfibre pads that fits on the head. Dead easy to use. Bung pad in washing machine afterwards. So it sits in the cupboard and I don't use it until floor gets really bad because I am realy lazy busy. I only have a small kitchen and bathroom with vinyl - everywhere else is carpet. Given that a steam mop seems to be similar to what I have plus steam added - how much will I really use it. Money is really tight but I could spend a bit of Christmas gift money on one.....

Convince me - or not!

Well why are you even thinking of getting one, you seem happy with the system you have?

I bought one recently as I'd read all the posts on here about them, and I'm really pleased with it. But I still use the mop you describe also. On alternate days. I feel the steam gives a good clean and then the other one is a top up to keep it clean.
But the bottom line is it only works if you actually use it Wink and you seem happy with what you have, so I'd say don't waste your gift money.
And while I've used it on carpets, it's not worth buying for that. I've a lot of tiles so it's on that I need it.

Well - I guess I really like the idea of giving things a good steam clean. I do like to have things nice and clean - it just doesn't happen as often as I'd like. I guess I'm wondering whether a steam mop would motivate me more?
