cleaning soft-bodied doll

DD has come home from MIL with a very grubby looking doll (a baby annabelle I think) which has plastic head/arms/legs, but a soft body - what's the best way to wash and dry it?

The care label says to hand wash, I usually put anything that says that into a pillowcase & in the washing machine! But perhaps that's not such a good idea in this case?

I would stick it in a gentle wash in a pillowcase too

I'd bung it in the machine.

If it has very grubby spots, a paste of soda crystals or washing powder first could do the trick.

Do it on low in the washing machine, I did it a bit too hot and her eyelashes fell out in patches, not an attractive look.

Thanks. I'm hoping she'll leave the doll at home tomorrow & I'll give it a go.

Washed the doll this morning in a pillowcase on 15deg delicate, short wash (the gentlest setting available on my machine) with some stain remover on his bum. He survived & is looking like new! I thought I'd let him relax on top of a radiator for a while today to recover from any post-traumatic stress!

Thanks again!
