does bedroom colour matter?

I am in the midst of re-decorating the master bedroom. I'm at the point now to choose what I should do with the walls....paint colour, paint with patterns, one wall, all walls, etc. It's a loft conversion, and, consequently, has silly ceiling angles. I've read things about how different colours can affect the ''feel'' of the room and what takes place in it (ie: red/red hues = more passion, energy, romance). Anyone believe that? Any recommendations? Anyone with hubby/wife room that you hate or love?

I am about to paint my and dp bedroom soft truffle. I think keeping it neutral/browns is easier and then add coloured accessories. You can then change the colour of accessories for a new look when you get bored.

I am thinking raspberry coloured accessories and in the process of persuading DP Wink

idobelieveinfairies: that's what i was steering towards. it's what i've done with the rest of the house, but was considering doing a solid color of some kind. unfortunately, the one wall i would probably paint a color has our grey-ish wooden bed against it. nothing goes with grey.....even a lot of neutral colors.....should've thought of that when we were choosing beds!

I have zesty light green and white scheme going on, it's very restfull.

We used Sour Apple from focus diy as the green colour, would probably go with grey too.

a deep purple wall would look great with grey, as does black wrought iron

Green is supposed to be good for bedrooms - very calming and restful. Apparently people whose windows look out onto green suffer less stress, or something like that.
