i keep a pack of antibacterial wipes and toilet cleaner in the bathroom. i clean the toilet and sink every couple of days whilst i am getting ready on a morning, and the bath once a week,
i tend to do bits as i go along on a morning, just general tidying up and putting things in their place. i hoover twice a week, a wednesday after work the down stairs gets a quick hoover and hoover right through every saturday/sunday morning. dishes all get washed after tea, (even the brekky pots) things that belong upstaits go on the dining room table and if anyone goes upstairs they take something with them.

enimod · 20/03/2011 20:46

my dyson is the new dog (rehomed the dog recently)-dyson is used probably 4 or 5 times a day-mainly to suck up ds left over food, crumbs. dyson staris twice a week and upstairs once a week.
bedding fortnightly
loos- clean the seats daily and sink too- you still cant tell though.

teenyweenytadpole · 21/03/2011 21:59

Bedding - once every two weeks, more if it is hot or anyone is ill
Loos/sinks - twice a week or so, more if they look grotty!
Vacuum - probably once or twice a week

Little and often is good but I do tend to have a bit of a mad clean once a week on the one day I don't go to work. More tricky if you work FT perhaps.

kbaby · 22/03/2011 22:18

the same as the others really.

upstairs hoovered once a week, downstairs twice(quick sweep other days if crumbs are sticking to my feet)
I keep anti bac wipes there so quick wipe of toilet and sink prob everyother day. Main clean of bath and tiles etc once a week
change the beds fortnightly

I seem to spend my life clearing clutter away, washing kids plastic cups and wiping down worktops though

menagerie · 22/03/2011 23:18

Hi

I do loos every day or every other day - but a real flylady swish and swipe - none of that down on your knees with a toothbrush mullarkey.
vacuuming - downstairs every day as it gets so grubby - don't know why. Upstairs every week ideally but really every 10 days.

Sinks twice a week. Baths I rinse out quickly a few times a week but clean properly only when they look like they need it.

Change beds fortnightly. Wish it was weekly but never get round to it.

nickschick · 22/03/2011 23:23

Bedding - once or twice a week(turn the mattresses and febreze the mattress too)
Bathroom-toilet,sink,bath and shower every day floor every other day with a huge ammonia clean up every 6 weeks or so
vacuum - downstairs every day at least once and I do a stiff brush first .....upstairs 2-3 times a week.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/03/2011 23:25

Hoover - every day downstairs, upstairs couple of times a week

Bedding - every day in summer, every other day in winter

Sink - clean it every day, loo - clean the outside every day, bleach down the loo overnight couple of times a week

We all take it in turns to do chores in this house, so I am not some slave to cleaning. I am the only one who changes the sheets though (DP thinks changing them so often is madness, and refuses to have anything to do with it)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 22/03/2011 23:37

How often do you hide the kettle GetOrf?

[wunk]

LawrieMarlow · 22/03/2011 23:39

I do things less often than most people.

Especially changing sheets.

Stangirl · 23/03/2011 21:45

bedding - couple of times a year
loos - weekly, by cleaner
vacuum - weekly, by cleaner. I've never hoovered a floor in my entire life.

Ragwort · 23/03/2011 21:48

Sheets - fortnightly (or more frequently if necessary Wink)

Loos/bathrooms - every 3-4 days (mine) - DH & DS share a bathroom, do their's less often Grin.

Hoover - rarely - haven't touched the hoover for the last three weeks. Do pick up crumbs with a dustpan and brush if I can be bothered.

Clearly my standards are very low.

nickschick · 24/03/2011 07:15

Stangirl and you are proud to tell people that??

BornAgainDomesticGoddess · 24/03/2011 07:21

...change bedding? Weekly
...clean loos and sinks? Daily
...vacuum the house? Twice a week.

I'm doing Flylady, so these are in my routine.

nickschick, does nick help with turning the mattress? DH and I can barely do our kingsize together. It gets turned about 4 times a year.
I think of the environmental impact of washing, as well as the fuel bills, and try to keept to about 3 loads a week - bedding is changed when it gets a bit pongy, about once a month, or obv straight away if there is a little accident.
We wear pyjamas in bed, and wash our bodies most days (!) so why the need to change sheets more frequently if they smell ok?

0891 · 24/03/2011 13:42

I do one job every day while DS naps. This could be hoovering, kitchen clean, bedding change, mopping, bathroom, dusting etc which means they all get done weekly-ish.

nickschick · 24/03/2011 14:07

Lol .....no I have 2 teenage sons who help me Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 24/03/2011 14:15

I do the fly lady swish and swipe of bathrooms every day and a proper clean once a week.
I hoover the hall and our family room/kitchen virtually every day as we have a dog who casts, we eat in the kitchen and both areas have doors used to o in and out of the house so get dirtier. The rest of the house gets hoovered once a week.
I wash our bed linen and our dcs bed linen on alternate weeks so I am only washing each bed once a fortnight. However if someone is ill or it gets hot we do it more often.
I dust once a week.
I declutter every day.
I put on a load of washing every day.
I put on the dishwasher at least once a day, sometimes more.
I iron usually once a week.
I do the kitchen worktops and table at least once a day, usually far more often.
Despite all this my kitchen is currently like a bomb exploded Grin

valiumredhead · 24/03/2011 18:25

Beds once a week or more often on the summer

Loos - pretty much every day

Hoover and mop - whenever they need doing which is usually every other day
