The one I have is small.

I used to have a le crueset but sold that before I moved back to the UK. Can't justify a huge price tag - may be up to £100 but it needs to be a big family sized one plus space for a bit more.

Looking at probably 28-30 cm.

denby cast iron ones are good, they were on offer in argos, not sure if they still are. they were also 50% off from denby online. i have two denby ones and they are great.
the linea cast iron casseroles from house of frazer were also half price not long ago, i have a shallow 30cm one that cost £35 in the sale in dec, its very similar to my le creuset one, i use it about 3 or 4 times a week and there isnt a mark on it.
i bought a massive 7.5lt 30cm cast iron casserole from a commercial cook shop on e-bay before xmas and the handle on the lid wasnt oven proof, also the quality wasnt that good. not recommended, they told me you are not supposed to put a casserole in the oven Hmm i got a replacement heatproof knob for £6ish.
i did see a few in tkmaxx last week, i didnt look how much they were though. also i think i saw somewhere sainsburys have theirs half price as well.

You could try Wol pans. I've got one and they're fab. Very heavy cast iron and go easily from Hob to oven with a detachable handle. Mine was a gift, so I'm not sure where you can get them but I'm pretty sure mine was bought online from the UK, and cost around £70.

There is a le creuset type (cast iron with enamal coating) 4lt casserole dish on sale in ALDI this week for £25.00 - that might be worth checking out!

Nisbets do their own cast iron brand Vogue which is pretty good. I also picked up a Prestige huge cast iron pot pretty cheaply (less than £50) in TK Maxx.

We have a cast iron Denby one and like all Denby it's really easy to clean.

We got ours from a Denby outlet shop on offer, can't remember how much it was, sorry.

Denby are great. Had one as a wedding present 12 years ago and it's still like new and comes up sparkling in the dishwasher. It's not cast iron though.

Have ordered the large james martin for denby. It is being discontinued so it was really cheap!

Also John Lewis have an own brand range which can go on hob, in microwave and in freezer. Very reasonably priced too.

Have you had a look at any Le Crueset outlet stores? You could prob get one that size for around/just over £100.....
