Blue mascara on cream carpet

Help! While getting ready for an 80's do at the weekend, I dropped the blue mascara wand on my cream carpet. I haven't tried anything yet as I'm terrified I'm going to make it worse. Any ideas? This is not a wool carpet.

Maybe eye make up remover?
I am sure I spilt black liquid eyeliner on my cream carpet as a teen and used this.
Is there alot? If there is maybe let it dry first and scrape excess off, then dab with cotton bud or tissue soaked in make up remover?

Good luck!

My dad (a carpet guru!) would always tell me to only ever use water on carpet stain. Scrape excess off first, then use a clean, slightly damp towel/tea towel and dab - don't scrub.

Failing that - baby wipes are incredible for getting all manner of stains off. We had a customer (in our carpet shop!) who managed to get red shoe polish out of her pale (wool) carpet. But that is not a method my Dad would subscribe to!

Just don't use any detergent-based carpet cleaner. They cause more problems in the end, because often you can't get all the soap out of the carpet and it ends up attracting more dirt, creating a dirty patch in a few weeks time.

Good luck!
