Nail varnish remover took dye out of leather sofa - can I fix it myself?

Got nail varnish on sofa, used nail varnish remover to get it off (as you do) - unfortunately, the dye of the sofa (darkish brown) came with it.

Any ideas?

if the mark is not too bit what about a bit of shoe polish ?

TheMightyToosh · 09/03/2011 09:20

Thanks Sane, I might give it a try. It's not big, about 2x1 inches, but it's on the seat, so I'd be worried it would rub off on people's clothes!

I wouldn't put shoe polish on the seat. I'm sure you can buy leather dye. Maybe shoe repair shop? Our sofa has a leather sample stapled to the base of it. Have a look. Then you could rake that to the shop to get a good match.

Or even take it

Ah, never thought of looking for a sample! Thanks chopchop, I'll have a look
