Is there any hope for my poor rug?!

I'd put a rug under the stairs while I decorated, and a stupid pipe leaked, which flooded the understairs cupbard.

It smells really damp and musty now, and though it's not an expensive one (so don't want to make an insurance claim) I'm reluctant to throw it away.

Is there anything I can do, or is it ruined for good?

Does your local dry cleaners do rug cleaning, or you could call in a carpet cleaning company to clean it.

Ooh I don't know, never thought of that- I'll give them a call in the morning, thanks.
I'm a bit of a tight wad though, so hopefully won't be too pricey!
