please be gentle with me, I maybe overstepping boundries what with being new and all.

Could we ask MNHQ for a dedicated FLY LADY section in the Home & Garden catagory list?

It seems there are several FLYing threads, I may be wrong but I don't think people mix from the threads.

It would be good to have a Do's & Don'ts of FLYing, and daily threads would be easier to review than 1 or 2 threads over a month, that move very quickly!

I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling a little lost on the thread sometimes, I would love to do more personal messages and get to know some of you ladies better Grin

plus I would love to discuss the merits or otherwise of 'dressing to shoes' Grin

OK - I'm off to work now - I'll catch up here later & hope I've not ruffled any FLYing feathers!

Excellent idea! I dropped out of a thread in November because I couldn't keep up with it.

I sat and watched earlier - it's toe-curlingly brilliant! Grin

Colourarc · 06/03/2011 17:00

Just one thing. fly isnt the only group of house type methods. You also have the slatterns. there might be a revolute amongst the slatterns who are full of perseonality and attitude.

Personally i like the fly threads and the fact that there are several going. However, there has recently been a mergence of two threads including a large number explosion of newbies to mn in the last few months. Combined with the normal random feelings to spring clean this time of the year means that some threads have out grown what they originally were.

The problem with daily threads rather then monthly threads is that you dont fill the thread space which is increadibly wasteful and it is nice to be able to scroll through the month and see where you have had good days and bad days.

I think that the existing system actually works really well and that housekeeping is a good place to leave the threads.

Did you know that there is an ebay and a facebook topic? Can never bloody find the things when looking for them either.

IMO there is no need to shove this into the corner far away. So many have fallen into this simply because they were searching for an answer or inspiration in housekeeping.

Colourarc · 10/03/2011 23:07

Gone ~ I see your point, but they could join within it too ~ it's just this such a huge forum & the threads get really busy I (and others) sometimes feel a bit lost, I would love to get to know people a little better ~ btw, I'll be joining you in the naughty corner soon, not been successful at all this week! Oh believe me the slatterns are very very very very not fly and are very proud to have nothing to do with them.

a few months ago there was about 20 people on the thread with about 15 regular. currently is has exploded to about 40 and it is very confusing. The originals and long termers know each other well which is why the individual groups of fly stick together they are friends as well as cleaning buddies.

GoneHopefullyForgotten · 10/03/2011 23:36

Blush tired brain. I mean the particular thread i am on had about 15at most - often only 10 posting regular.

Not sure what the other fly threads did as didnt every venture there apart from the original fly thread which was marginally scarey and efficient. there are a number of fly threads and they all have their own unqiueness.

Oldies
originals
week starting
fledglings
confusingly a new fledglings one but a different group
and others.

tbh as i stay clear of most of the other housekeeping stuff i am out of date as to which group is which these days.

NettieSpaghetti · 11/03/2011 07:50

colourarc you raise some good points but i totally agree with gnf

i have been on one fly thread for over a year now and yes it is huge at the mo with lost of newbies and oldies but i think its great.

i would not have found Flying at all if i did not stumble upon it in housekeeping. I had never heard of fly before and it has made a big difference.

see you on the other thread soon.

GoneHopefullyForgotten · 11/03/2011 12:04

Last arguement against put in full on other thread but in short: breach of copyright, HQ open for being sued. Not good idea.
