my water is piping hot. always has been unless i have run out of oil. there is a dial on the tank in the hotpress and i have it turned down to between 20 and 10. the water is still piping hot. is there somewhere else i should be looking for temperature control?

Do you have a gas boiler? If so then there will be a control on there.

If not then maybe the thermostat on your hot water tank is faulty?

I hope you get it sorted out :)

no it is oil fired central heating. but tehre is a control on it so i will try adjusting that and see if it helps. thanks.

maybe something wrong with your tank thermostat. Does it click when you turn it up and down ? Ours was faulty when it was installed but of course the plumber would not belive me so we boiled a tank of water for 3 months until he came to replace our £6 thermostat. You actually need an electrician if it needs replacing.

Have you a timer for the heating? I think I remember that the water temp could be set on that in our old house.

i have a control panel in the kitchen for the heating and water but there is no temperature control on it. the dial on the water tank doesn't click. it never has. i can always hear the water ever when the heating is off is that normal?
