I wash mine daily on a 40degree wash, but dh mentioned that it might still be harbouring bacteria. I know you can use disposable ones, but I like the big thick cotton-types, do I have to boil it daily? Could I rinse it in Milton fluid? Any thoughts?

my mum used to boil hers on the stove.

i, however, wash mine in the machine.

Wash as normal and soak in bleach once a week. Then rinse thoroughly obviously!

stick it in the dishwasher if you have one, or give it a minute in the microwave, wet - have to be careful with the latter as if it isn't wet it might catch fire

Wash it out in the sink, then a minute in the microwave.

If you wash yours in the washing machine, how often do you do this? And do you wash it on its own?

once a week in the washing machine with all kitchen towels. Or on a boil wash if really dirty.

i do a towel wash every 3 days and my dishcloths go in with that. i use a fresh cloth everyday and it is soaked in bleach during the day when not being used.
