In a nutshell, cooked some meat, seeeriously underestimated the amount of fat in the meat, and now I have a horrible large pool of liquid fat in the bottom of my oven, and its disgusting. What's the best way of getting it out without spreading it everywhere? Oh it's so gross, help me please ladies!

As you can tell I'm not very domestic Grin

what sort of meat is it? will it solidify when it goes cold? if so I would wait and scrape it off.

otherwise you probably need something absorbent like a tea towel or a wodge of kitchen roll.

Cool the oven down, squirt washing up liquid in a ring round it, then swab inwards with kitchen towel. Then wash with hot soapy water.

Then go to the shops and buy a silicon oven liner so next time it doesn't matter.

What they said, Cool, scrape and wash with hot water. My mum used to keep an old roasting tray in the bottom of the oven and then run it through the dishwasher when it got mucky.

In the days before silicone liners.
