Little Green Clean Machine - any good?

We've recently bought a house and can't afford to replace the carpets for a good while yet, so have to live with the ones we have. They are cream. I can't convey just how much we aren't suited to cream carpets as a family, and I think it's time to get a carpet cleaner.

I was hoping to spend less than £100 and would like something compact. Came across the Bissell Little Green Clean Machine, which seems like it might be up to the job. Does anyone have one? Is it any good?

I had one when I lived in the US - it is wonderful for spot cleaning, (hot soapy water sprayed right on the spot and then sucked out of the carpet again) but I wouldn't recommend it for doing the whole carpet.

You do need to rinse it out on a regular basis or it gets a bit manky. We don't have carpets in our current place but we were considering getting another just for doing the upholstery, especially in the cars.
