How can I remove crayon from painted walls?

My DTs (18 months) managed to scribble on the table and the wall this morning while I was stacking the dishwasher.

I cleaned the table ok (it's a kids' plastic Ikea one, so Cif cleaned it up perfectly), but I don't know what to do about the wall.

Can anyone advise, or do I have to repaint it?

Needless to say, I then supervised them much more closely, and removed the crayons when I needed to leave the room.

Bicarb on a damp cloth is good. Those magic eraser things are fab too.

It depends whether your walls are really painted, or whether they are emulsioned.

You can wash painted walls with a mild bleach solution and water, very effectively. Emulsion just washes off.

Wax crayon?

You could try the iron with kitchen roll between the iron and the wall? Works for candle wax.

I'd second the magic sponges. They got rid of my son's artwork without any problems. I've also heard that hairspray and wd40 (not together) also work.

I used wd40 on our emulsion walls - worked a treat.

Thanks that's great, they're emulsioned so I'll give WD40 a try - we've got some in the garage.

Where can I get a magic sponge - I like the sound of those!

You should be able to buy the magic erasers from asda, homebase, instore. Also the "It Works" blocks which are the same idea can be purchased from QVC. They are really good. I managed to get green crayon off my wooden floor effortlessly using it.

Hairspray works on walls as well.

Magic blocks work on everything...literally any stain vanishes, even ones so old you've stopped noticing them.

I think aliens make them Grin
