Cleaning the buggy seat and hood

HI,

I have a Maclaren Quest buggy and the material of the hood and seat are needing a good clean. No major stains just generally grubby after being in and out of the car all winter. What is the best method/products? Was trying to decide if warm soapy water and a good rub would be best or something else?

Thanks

I used to use car upholstery cleaner. Comes as a spray/stiff brush combo.

i stick mine in the washing machine, including the hood. Mine is 3.5 years old and washed it this way about 6 or 7 times. it all buttons off. One of the reasons İ love Maclarens :)

I just wipe mine over with some lenor diluted in warm water then stand it next to radiator. I did use liquid detergent on my oldest daughters once and it faded the material.

I used to put the seat covers in the washing machine on a cool wash and with minimal or no detergent.

I had a navy and bright green pushchair and it never faded.

i dampen an old face-flannel in water, with a spoon of washing powder dissolved in it, to rub all the old stains off.

and left to dry in the garden.

Thanks for the suggestions. The car upholstery cleaner sounds promising.

upyourdiva - how do you get the cover and hood off? Looking tonight I can't get the plastic strap length adjusters through the seat pad and under where the leg support extends out there is an elastic strap going across that doesn't seem to undo. Also can't see how to take the hood off.
