Freebie chinese containers ...

Hi

I really need to organise my larder. I love having one but it is so messy I can't find anything at the moment.

I have been putting it off for ages thinking I would buy some 'proper' lock and lock type storage for baking stuff - flour, nuts, etc. - but baulk at the idea when I actually have to part with the money [tight emoticon :)]

I have quite a few of the plastic containers the chinese comes in but would these be OK or would I need something more airtight? I think they will be too small for the flour but for the nuts and caster sugar, etc?

Any domestic goddesses out there?

TIA :)

Yup, our things are stored in a variety of old coffee/jam jars and takeaway containers. Good excuse for a takeaway, no?

(am tight too, I have our sauce packets etc in a plastic box that the plums came in, inspired by this in Lakeland...)

Thanks. Off to sort my cupboard (as long as my ds doesn't wake up - the other thing that stops me!...)

I also use my chinese takeaway boxes to put my batch cooking in to freeze. They are the perfect size for one meal :)

They also stack up well in cupboards/freezer
