gritty/sand stuff in dishwasher!

Trivial in the grand scheme of things I know but it is driving me mad!

My dishwasher is new. Every time I run it, I do an 8 minute rinse cycle then take out the filter etc and clean them out.

But most times my glasses come out with this sandy gritty stuff baked onto them.

I can't work out what it is and how to get rid of it.

Any ideas please?

It is the abrasive component in the detergent.
Usually if you let it run a full cycle it will be rinsed away. If it isn't rinsed away then this means either the rinse cycle isn't working properly or you are interrupting it before it's properly finished or the jets in the washing arms may be blocked.

I had this and did some research, OK I was bored... But it's actually the muck on your plates in the first place that's been blasted with high temperature water and then not rinsed properly and finally baked back on in the drying cycle. Try using rinse aid, it worked for me!

I'd use salt and rinse aid and check that the spray arms are not blocked

what christmasmum said.

Toast crumbs are always the culprit in our house so I make sure they are brushed off before the go in.

Mashed potato always seems to leave gritty stuff over everything here.
