Help! Impending MIL arrival.

Having a huuuge cleanup today for impeding MIL visit. I know I won't be able to get the house immaculate as I'm on my own all day with 2.5 year old DD and 6 week old DS so what do you think the key areas to focus on are?

Help would be appreciated.

Whenever my mum visited my sister's chaotic house she consolled herself with the knowledge that the toilets and sinks were sparkling.

What does it for me is clear surfaces.

Toilet/sink with clean towels and a full loo roll.

Wipe down worktops and that is it!

Yes definitely clean the sinks, the bath/shower (if she is staying over) and the toilet. Wipe the kitchen surfaces and the hob and vacuum downstairs if you can. That will make the house clean. Sod tidy, I say
