Use a big mixing/pudding bowl, make 2 and then you can carve round one of them to make the top bit cupcakey?
Or just make one and then do a big wibbly circle of white fondant on top to look like icing, with a red blob fora classic cherry fairycake?

hi! i use a victoria sandwich cake recipe and do 1.5 times the quantity of everything. then if you wanted choc, vanilla etc then you can just add what you want to the recipe.
also is you oven hot enough? when icing use creamcheese frosting instead, as it looks nnicer and doesnt drip everywhere when you ar trying to put it on, just add a couple of drops of food colouring as you would other icing. if you need the recipies i will put them on. good luck
