Hi, does anyone have any suggestions to get ground in mud out of ds football kit, have washed it on an ordinary wash, have washed it using Vanish, but I just cannot get the mud stains out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I understand the frustration, but after 5 years of washing two kits 3 times a week my advise would be - don't worry!

I used to wash them two or three times, with vanish and still some mud stains wouldn't come out.

No sooner have they got the kit back on, its covered in mud again - so I just don't worry now. They are washed on a 40 wash, with vanish and that's it.

I can honestly say I have never noticed that our kits look any worse than any of their team-mates.

Sorry, not the advice you were looking for!

I have recently tried the new Ariel stain remover liquid (ina large dark blue bottle) and it did remove some mud stains off a football top that have been there for a while, you could try that!

Otherwise i wouldn't worry. They will be muddy again before long.

The boys school kit colours are navy and royal blue so you can't notice much, but the older boys club football kits are white shorts..white shorts!!!!! What were the managers thinking!!! Grin

soak it in plain water to loosen the mud before it goes in the machine.

have you got a shower? I used to soak the kit in the bath, then let the water out & pummel the stains with the shower on full (one of those pulsing settings, not the fine spray) - it pushes a lot of the filth out of the fabric.

But agree that kit isn't meant to be dazzling, immaculate Persil white Grin

(It isn't white, is it? Shock IMO all kit should be black or navy or some other dark colour - maybe with coloured spots to differentiate between the teams Confused)
